Traffic Control Engineer Result

The plaintiff filed a personal injury action after suffering a traumatic brain injury in a car accident at a construction zone.   Koenig Jacobsen represented the traffic control engineer.  Prior to mediation, Plaintiff informally made a $1,000,000 policy limits demand on Koenig Jacobsen’s client.  However, Koenig Jacobsen was able to settle the matter well within the statutory reporting requirement amount at the mediation.

Defense Judgment Entered for Koenig Jacobsen Client

A contractor brought suit against a civil engineer for alleged misrepresentations and inadequacies in the project’s technical provisions and plans.  Koenig Jacobsen represented the civil engineer and successfully demurred to the complaint, with no leave to amend granted.  Judgment to be entered in the civil engineer’s favor.

Koenig Jacobsen Obtains Defense Judgment

Potential homeowner brought suit against real estate broker and its agent for a failed transaction involving a single family home in Los Angeles. Koenig Jacobsen represented the broker and agent; successfully demurring to Plaintiff’s complaint.  When Plaintiff failed to amend within the statutory time, the Court entered judgment for Koenig Jacobsen’s clients and awarded prevailing party costs.

Soils Engineer Result

Multiple plaintiffs filed a construction/design defect action against the developers, general contractor, multiple designers and subcontractors.  Koenig Jacobsen represented the soils engineer.  Koenig Jacobsen was able to successfully resolve the case on behalf of the client for 1/10 of the amount demanded by the developers/general contractor prior to trial.

The plaintiff property owner filed a design defect action against a soils engineer, alleging that the soils engineer’s report and recommendations fell below the standard of care and resulted in extensive retrofitting of the property.  Despite Plaintiff claiming over $1,000,000 in damages, Koenig Jacobsen was able to settle the case at mediation within the statutory reporting requirement amount.

School Owner Result

Plaintiff filed a personal injury action against a school and other trades who provided construction services for the school after she injured herself on the premises.  Koenig Jacobsen represented the owner of the premises.  Koenig Jacobsen was able to successfully resolve the case on the day of trial for half of the demand by plaintiff.
